Confirmation Class of 2010

I am so excited that the Confirmation class for our new 7th grade students will be starting again in just a few weeks!! Our 2009 class was awesome! All of the students had great experiences going through the process of becoming members of Hockessin United Methodist Church. They all completed confirmation with a feeling of pride, accomplishment, and a sense of belonging. It is now my great privilege to be able to offer the opportunity of Confirmation to you as well!!

Let me tell you briefly about Confirmation. Confirmation is a program designed for our 7th graders that focuses on leading you into a meaningful relationship with God, the Church, and your peers. The program for Confirmation includes Bible study, trips, and youth events. Through our Bible study times, we will work together to have a fuller understanding of our faith and what it means to be a Christian. Several of our trips will allow us to experience God in unique ways. Finally, there will be many youth activities and trips that will allow you to just have fun and build relationships with other students of our church who are your age. At the end of this process, you will be confirmed as a member of Hockessin United Methodist Church!

The Confirmation program does require some commitment and dedication on your part, but will be worth your time and effort! Please refer to the document below for a calendar of events as well as a listing of the requirements you must meet in order to be confirmed with the class of 2010 next May. Due to the fact that there are requirements in our Confirmation program, I ask that you register for the program by September 13th, 2009. Orientation for this program will be held on Wednesday, September 16th and I must know who is planning on participating in this program before that date.
